Water balloons, youtube, and seizures
Crazy story to tell, but first, other crap.
High-speed video me and my lab partner shot of a water balloon bouncing. Probably will be more of this as the term goes on.
Best music video of the year so far for one of the best, if not best single of the year so far. Hot Chip - "Over and Over"
I love the thing I put these videos on, youtube. Tons and tons of both videos people rip from shows and really strange stuff people shoot themselves. Search for some random words and you'll find people doing the weirdest things. Modern culture, baby. I love it.
Anyway, the story. Was in the student center working on some stuff for the class I made the balloon video for. Went down to the first floor for some Vitamin Water (green tea flavor is the best liquid ever). Was waiting for the elevator when I hear the guy behind me make a weird noise. Kind of a "Gok!" I look back and the guy's laying on the floor. At first I think he's joking around with someone, but then I see no one who he appears to be with and that his hands are clawed up and that he's shaking a bit and has a pained look on his face. Holy crap, he's having a seizure. Me and some Asian girl are just like "Ummm... hey?! Someone?! Help... he's having a seizure" etc. Some guy a lot more clear-headed than us runs up and starts taking charge. Someone calls 911 etc. I'm freaking out a good deal here, because his lips are turning blue. I'm desperately trying to remember what to do in case of a seizure from Boy Scouts. Unfortunately, I didn't learn much in Boy Scouts. The only thing I can think of is that you shouldn't put a spoon in his mouth. Well, I guess I'd be ready for that if someone tried it. Luckily some dudes who apparently know what they're doing come by. They loosen clothing, get him laying on a couch and other crap. He starts to calm down (though I don't think it had anything to do with their actions) and his face goes back to normal. He appears pretty dazed but okay. I left a bit after that and saw him in the hall today. Guess everything turned out alright.
